What are the Stages of LTAD?
There will be a total of five workshops available and are applicable to students across a rage of ages that correspond to each of the five stages of LTAD.
- FUNdamentals (Ages 7-9): Primary Schools Year 3-4
- Learning to Move (Ages 10-12): Primary Schools Year 5-6 & Secondary Schools Year 7-8
- Learning to Train (Ages 13-15): Secondary Schools Year 9-10
- Training to Train (Ages 16-17): Secondary Schools Year 11 & Colleges Year 12-13
- Training to Compete (Ages 18+): Colleges Year 13 & University Students
How do we do it?
Each workshop will start off with the theory underpinning the relevant stage of LTAD and delivered appropriately to the ages of the students.
The workshop will then put the theory into practice, involving the GCP team delivering practical sessions to the students. For schools and colleges, the aim of the practical session is two-fold; firstly, to show the students how they can develop their physical characteristics whilst socially engaging with their peers in a fun and enjoyable way.
Secondly, we encourage Physical Education (PE) teachers, Sports Coaches, and Directors of Sport who work at the institution to attend the workshops to further develop their understanding of LTAD and how they could incorporate the model into their programme

Working with Alex and the team at GCP this pre-season put me in the best shape possible ahead of the new season. The programme that GCP delivered for me was exactly what I needed and I look forward to working with them again.
I attended the performance psychology section with 20 other business founders and found it very useful in understanding myself and what I can do to improve my personal performance within my team. I went further to invite the GCP team into conducting the same session with my staff. Overall I wanted my team to improve their individual and team performance by understanding each other’s mindset and gain an appreciation of each other’s approach. This was well-received by all staff beyond what I or my management team could achieve. Getting an external organisation truly added value as the session was not treated as a company requirement but a more personal approach to development. I strongly recommend any business that wants to develop a high-performance team to attend this course. The preparation, delivery and execution is great.
